COMMERCIAL INSURANCE PROJECT
The Center for Risk Management and Insurance Research at Georgia State University's Robinson College of Business is conducting the Commercial Insurance Project to gain a better understanding of the dynamics of important commercial insurance and reinsurance markets and the factors influencing movements in demand and supply, prices and terms of coverage. Other significant developments and issues will be studied. This is an ongoing, long-term program of research that seeks to learn:
- what drives market conditions
- factors triggering price and coverage changes
- significant market developments
- the implications for future market movements
For our analysis
of markets at the primary level, we are utilizing data from the
RIMS Benchmarking survey compiled by Advisen. We encourage commercial
insurance buyers to consider participating in the RIMS/Advisen
survey. We are also exploring alternative approaches to gather
information reinsurance price and contract terms. Employers
Reinsurance Corporation (ERC) provided support to help initiate
the project
Buyers of commercial reinsurance are invited to participate in the survey and contribute to risk management and insurance research and education. Survey participants will receive special access to detailed survey results. A summary analysis of the survey results and related research papers will eventually be published.
Currently all visitors to this site can access all materials on the site. After the reinsurance survey responses are processed, analyzed and published, access to the detailed results will be restricted to survey participants.
